Is this a joke? South East governors appoint Ike Nwachukwu leader of Igbo delegates

The South-East Governors’ Forum yesterday in Enugu appointed General Ike Nwachukwu (retd), former Minister of External Affairs, Senator Ike Nwachukwu, as the chairman of the South-East delegates to the national conference.
Recall that General Ike Nwachukwu, who was a military governor of old Imo State, who sold most of the industries established by Sam Mbakwe to himself. He also was a very close associate of former Nigerian military dictator, General Ibrahim Babangida 9rtd). Moreover, Ike Nwachukwu has strong ties with the northern Oligarchy as his mum is of the Hausa-Fulani stock. How could one with such pedigree head an Igbo delegation that is supposed to be talking about self determination?

The meeting, which was attended by delegates of the zone to the conference also appointed Monsignor Obiora Ike to serve as deputy chairman for the zone.
Abia State Governor and Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, T. A. Orji, who briefed newsmen at the end of the meeting, said a leader was also appointed for each state.
For Abia State, Orji named Ike Nwachukwu as the leader of Abia delegates while former Ohanaeze president, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, would lead delegates from Anambra.
Former governor of Ebonyi State, Dr. Sam Egwu, was appointed the leader of Ebonyi delegates while former Senate president, Chief Ken Nnamani, would lead Enugu delegates.
Dr. Ezekiel Izuogu was also named to lead Imo State delegates to the conference.
Governor Orji said the meeting also agreed that there would be a secretariat for the South-East delegates to be headed by Prof. George Obiozor, adding that the South-East states would nominate two persons to serve in the secretariat.
“We also agreed that the five South-East states will bear the cost of funding the secretariat,” he said.
All the governors advised the delegates that they should work as a group in the overall interest of the nation,” he said.
Those at the meeting were Governors T. A. Orji, Sullivan Chime of Enugu State and Chief Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State. The Imo State governor was represented by his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere.
Others at the Enugu meeting were former governors Sam Egwu and Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife; the Ohanaeze President Enwo Igariwey; the Secretary, Joe Nworgu and Prof. ABC Nwosu as well as former deputy governor of Ebonyi State, Prof. Chigozie Ogbu and Senator Offia Nwali.
